Allows analysis and manufacture of devices of a level equal to or below the skill level, and increases the quality of manufactured devices.
The Build Devices skill allows pilots to create highly desirable devices which enhance the capabilities of a ship.
The art of device-building is available to all Explorer pilots (JE, PS, TS), the Tradesman pilots JSs and TTs, and one Warrior class, the JD.
Note that due to residual animosity between the Jenquai and the Progen following their war, certain technology from each race is race-blocked. You will find that each of these two races will not be able to analyze a subset of devices made by their former adversary. For this reason, the Terran Scout or the Terran Tradesman are the best professions to train as your Device-builder, as they will be able to make all buildable devices from all three races. As the TT can build most ship items, you may wish to make a TS your device-builder, as your TT will not have enough skillpoints to apply to all build skills without depriving the training of other important skills until you reach the highest OL skill levels.
