Collect Cookies from CL 5 militia; exchange 40 cookies for 1 trinket; hand in the number of trinkets that matches the level of desired Heart shield.
Steps
- greet Tzu (in the Lounge at Orsini Mining Platform) with "Happy Valentine's Day, Tzu!"
- if he offers a choice of mission, choose "Valentine's Day"
- Collect 40 Cookies (or a multiple of 40)
- Kill the L5 Merus Militia Baker mobs to collect Encrypted Valentine Cookies (see this page for locations).
- Note: Militia in their normal area near Detention Center Onorom (in Asteroid Belt Gamma) do NOT drop cookies.
- return to Tzu at OMP with 40 Encrypted Valentine Cookies (or a multiple of 40)
- For every 40 cookies, Tzu will give you 1 Trinket.
- The "greet Tzu, return with 40 cookies" sequence may be repeated as often as desired
- Repeat this step until you have the number of Trinkets you need for the level of shield you want (L1= 1 trinket, L2= 2 trinkets, et cetera). If you are seeking a Level 9 shield for example, nine trinkets will require 9 x 40 = 360 cookies.
- Cookies are not tradeable, nor can the Valentine's Day Trinket(s) Tzo gives you be traded.
- Travel to Primus sector, Nav Primus 4, where you will find nine Heart-shaped nav points.
- Note that there is a patrol of six CL 50 V'rix Helkos in the area; cloaks work fine.
- Approach, target, and open a communication link with the Heart-nav with the name which corresponds to the Level-number of the Shield which you would like (see list, below).
- Note: You must have the appropriate number of Trinkets in your cargo hold.
- The names of the Heart-navs and the levels to which they correspond are as follows:
L1 Shield from nav: U R THE 1
L2 Shield from nav: 2 CUTE
L3 Shield from nav: CUTIE PIE
L4 Shield from nav: CRAZY 4 U
L5 Shield from nav: HIGH FIVE
L6 Shield from nav: I HEART U
L7 Shield from nav: TRUE LOVE
L8 Shield from nav: SOUL M8
L9 Shield from nav: NO OTHER
Other information
- Heart Shields may be vault-stored and traded, but they are non-manufacturable.
- This mission is seasonal and lasts for one week only per year (in 2017, it ran from the 14th to the 21st of February}.
- The mission is repeatable and may be taken as often as desired during its seasonal availability.
- The other Valentine's Day mission is Looking for Love
Notes
- This rare shield may be acquired by completing the seasonal mission which is typically available for one week during mid-February.
- The Heart range of shields is made in a number of levels:
- All shields have the same buffs, just in differing strengths. It would cost 360 cookies to get a lvl 9 shield, or 1800 cookies to get one of each level. 360 cookies can be gathered in around 1 hour with minimal effort.
