Shield Tech

Allows use of shields of a level equal to or below the skill level.

The Shield Tech skill is common to all pilots and is one of the three core skills which all pilots must train:

Engine Tech - only Terrans can train to Level 9; maximum for other races is Level 8.
Reactor Tech - only Jenquai can train to Level 9; maximum for other races is Level 8.
Shield Tech - only Progens can train to Level 9; maximum for other races is Level 8.

Unlike your ship's weapon or device slots which can be empty, your ship's engine, reactor, and shield slots must always fitted with an appropriate unit.

Shield Tech is available to all nine professions:

Progen Warrior

Certain pilots are able to train in the Build Shields skill, which enables them to build shields (with quality up to 200%).
