Professor E. Hubble has lost his research. Help him, won't you?
Steps
- Find the Professor's Research Papers: He suggests destroying 12 Vindis Warriors.
- CL48, they're fast and numerous, recommend hunting around Vindis Approach 2 and keep your distance from the Wreckage of Pax Theseus as it's extremely easy to be overwhelmed there.
- Find the Professor's Research Papers: The Vindis Warriors didn't have it. Perhaps that Vindis Ghost Ship does?
- The CL53 Vindis Ghost Ship can be found at Wreckage of Pax Theseus, along with many warriors.
- You receive Professor's Research Notes after killing the ghost ship. Make sure you have a free cargo slot!
- This is a tough fight, I highly recommend getting the highest psionic resist you can (e.g. Tolerance Mk. VIII plus Rally) and try to pull the Vindis Ghost Ship by itself (e.g. with a JD and summon, then lead it back to your group). Its hacking is extremely dangerous and the best de-fense is a good o-ffense (Mel, the cook on Alice!); locking it down with a TE that has Rank 6 Hacking plus something like Deadly Barrier or Enforcer's Retort and chain casting Multi-Hack worked exceptionally well.
- Eureka! You found the Research Notes! Return them to the Professor quickly!
- You receive 25,000 credits, 5,000 Combat XP, 5,000 Explore XP and 5,000 Trade XP
- Speak to the Professor again.
- Make sure you do this to get the Shooting Star VIII reactor blueprint.
- Talk to him one last time to get the follow-on mission A Universe of Questions!
Notes
- Completed on a CL39/EL43/TL38 (OL120) PP.
- If you don't have an empty cargo slot available, you won't receive the Professor's reseach notes and will have to wait for the Ghost Ship to respawn. This seemed to happen after the second respawn of Vindis Warriors.
