Overview
Welcome to the Nexus. This sector at Sol's frontier to deep space is the jumping-off point for deep space travel through to Progen and Jenquai controlled territories; the various hunting grounds of Beta Hydri, all of the various parts of Sol's great Asteroid belt and also a gate to the neutral sectors of Sol system: Mercury, Venus, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto & Charon. This sector at Sol's frontier to deep space is where you'll find the headquarters of the Net-7 News Service, at Net-7 SOL starbase. "Next door" is Jupiter sector, where you will find the capital starbase of the Jenquai (an important, easy-to-reach source of Level 1, 2, 8, and 9 components - which are difficult to find away from the capital starbase of each race).
There's also an abandoned starbase here of unknown origin, maybe it will house a new operator in the future, or maybe it will remain a monument to the standoff between the Red Dragon and the Chavez pirates; who knows?
At each end of the sector you will find mobile parts vendors — a rare sight in the galaxy, and Saturn has two of them! The Interstellarms Light Freighter cruises around the three gates in the southwest, and Monty's High Quality Manufacturing Components! is to be found in the northeast, near the stargate to Akeron's Gate sector.
The autostrada going through this sector is often a time for the en-route traveler to sort the cargo-hold, read up in the wiki, apply buffs, or engage in radio chatter, but turn your head once in a while and enjoy the fantastic view of yellow, gigantic Saturn.
