Fold Space abilities are used to quickly teleport short distances, often to evade danger.
Fold Space is a skill common to all Jenquai and allows for the teleportation of enemies and also group members. Unlike the Jenquai Defender's Summon skill, which uses teleportation for combat, the Fold Space skill is defensive, allowing you to either flee, or to teleport an enemy away from you.
Only the JD (Warrior class) can attain the maximum skill level of 7. JEs and JSs max out at level 5.
How to use
Right-clicking on the skill button will allow you to select one of the skill's abilities.
To teleport yourself, right-click in your targeting window to deselect any mob or player before hitting the Fold Space button. Rematerialization occurs at a random location within the range of effect, but at higher levels teleportation occurs in the direction the subject ship is facing.
To teleport an enemy, target a mob located anywhere around your ship and activate the skill; after a short activation period the mob will be teleported away from you.
Pro-tip: a user of this skill can enhance its effect by:
- making sure your ship's signature is minimized as much as possible
- hitting an enemy with the "Scan Blind" effect, before activating your Fold Space skill
- after distancing an enemy from you, check to see if it is still within range of your Fold Space skill - if so, fold space on it again.
A scan-blinded, double-folded enemy is probably going to blunder off and not find your signature-minimized ship again for some time.
The scan blind effect can be applied using a Coma device (available in Levels 3 to 9), or a L7 Skirmish Alpha shield (non-tradable), or a L9 Manticore's Dread Torment.
Effects
- Level 1 — Teleports the ship 5000 units in a random direction.
- Level 2 — Teleportation range is increased to 5300 units.
- Level 3 — Teleports enemy NPCs away from the ship, and increases teleportation range to 5600 units.
- Level 4 — Increases teleportation range to 5900 units..
- Level 5 — Allows other group members within 6000 units to be teleported away from danger.
- Level 6 — Teleports targets in the direction they are facing, and increases teleportation range to 6500 units.
- Level 7 — Teleports all group members within 6000 units in the current direction, and increases the teleportation range to 6800 units.
