The Progen Privateer (PP) is a Trader class within Earth and Beyond. The PP has more reactor power and weapon slots than Terran Tradesman, and so makes a good second-line fighter. It can also install more powerful shields than the Jenquai Seeker, and thus may survive longer in heated battle. However, this is accomplished by giving up device level 9 capability and also the number of device slots, thus limiting the ability to both buff/debuff and resist incoming damage at the same time. Progen Privateers are also slower, due to the progen preference for heavily-armoured ships.

The Progen Privateer was originally planned, but never implemented when Earth & Beyond originally went Live in 2002. Users of the ENB Emulator may now experience and enjoy playing this class of pilot.

Advantages

  • Recharge group shields skill [level 7].
  • Critical Targeting (Skill) (max level 5 = 50% chance of a critical hit doing double damage) adds to combat power.

Disadvantages

  • only four device slots -- limits buffs and resists
  • no level 9 devices [max level 8]
  • slow -- engines limited to level 8 maximum

How to start a Progen Privateer

Privateers can started similar to the original six classes. When creating a new character, use the < Choose Profession > buttons at the bottom to cycle through available classes. The new classes do not have introductory vocals.
