The device description alleges that when activated, it will allow you to "scan the area in detail", to a range of 2.0k. An increase to scan range was noted neither on installation nor on activation.

Other Informations:
The ships this item was tested on were a TE and a PW, both at OL150, with items giving a scan boost removed first. It might be that this device only gives enhancement to very low level ships. To be confirmed. (July 2023).
