Scooter is a mean CL66 Scuttlebug who brings a long a lot of friends.

Requirement: each pilot will need to possess a der Todesengel Gate Access Key, acquired from the mission The Lucky Charm, in order to enter the der Todesengel sector from Witberg.

The Fight

This encounter is comprised of successive waves of mobs. When you kill one wave, the next one spawns. You will likely also have to deal with the standard mobs hanging around the starting-point nav, which may pile on with the Raid mobs and cause extra damage.

Easy with 2 groups, do-able but slow with 1 group.

Trigger

The Raid is triggered by eliminating a CL65 Scuttlebug Cow at “The Roost” nav, in der Todesengel sector, Alpha Centauri.
Caution: Before you think about killing that cow... be ready for a long fight (missile and projectile users, be sure to be well-stocked with ammunition).

Waves

Once the Scuttlebug Cow is dead, the waves start spawning. Every time a wave spawns, everyone will receive a "Warning: SPAWN TRIGGERED" notification. The leader (and anyone else with situational awareness) should rotate their camera around to find the spawn (a bunch of purple and red particles), they can be quite far apart. They may also be directly towards the sun, which makes them hard to see. Once you know where the next spawn is, take a moment to rebuff if you need and then head that way.

The first 9 waves are relatively easy, then things get more difficult once the Rogue Militia Bugmaster's start spawning in Wave 10.

Starting with Wave 12 things get more difficult again with the addition of Berserk Battlebug's.

Strategy

  • TEs: remember to hack / biosuppress to lower incoming damage
  • This is a long fight, so bring plenty of ammo and take the time to re-buff after a wave.
  • While the Battlebug Berserkers hit hard, it is recommended to kill the Bugmasters because they heal.
  • Most raids kill Scooter, loot his corpse, and warp to safety leaving his reinforcements behind.
