Terran Rank Promotion 2. Visit Executive MacKellan at Earth Station in Earth Sector.

CAUTION: Do not wormhole out of 61 Cygni or you will mess up the mission. You need to fly through the Cygni gate to trigger the next step in the mission.

Steps

1. Speak to Executive MacKellan again and decide if you want to take the bonus mission. Do or Do Not.
2. Build 10 Industrial Mining Lasers and take them to Executive Cailleach MacKellan at Earth Station in Earth.
   • She gives you the blueprint, you need 10x (each): Protion Opti Pro (L1), Ultra ActuPlus LS (L2), Proton Champion Mounts (L3)
   • To build this, you will need Build Weapons rank 3,
3. Certify your mining lasers with the EarthCorp Weapons Inspector in Inverness near the gate to New Edinburgh.
4. Deliver the 10 certified Industrial mining lasers to Jerriv Kivok-Vechina on Kinshasa-Mbali station in Aganju.
   • Upon gating to 61 cygni, 5 lasers will be 'stolen' by Roland Holmes.
5. Take the remaining 5 lasers to Jerriv Kivok-Vechina on Kinshasa-Mbali station in Aganju, and inform him of your encounter with Roland Holmes.
6. Talk to the Cygni Miners around the station perhaps there is an informant who can provide clues to locating Roland Holmes.
   • Undock, head toward Aganju planet, you should see some lvl 14/15 mobs floating around. Look for a CL 15 called "Dejected Miner" and talk to him.
7. Purchase a Nommos Hunting License sold by Orkael Lazzara on Kinshasa-Mbali station for Bonn.
8. Return to Bonn in Aganju just outside the station with his Hunting License.
9. Pickup 1 experimental lense at Orsini Mining Platform in Carpenter from Mark Cyrus, then inform Jerriv Kivok-Vechina in Aganju of your plan to locate and capture Roland Holmes.
   • You must talk to talk to the guy in Aganju once you have the lens but BEFORE you land on Inverness Planet!
   • You need one lens per attempt. Attempt = "attempting to kill Roland Holmes". If you get him the first time, you win! If not, rebuy, retry.
   • Capt Roland Holmes is CL 11. He will spawn the moment you zone onto Inverness Planet with an experimental lens in your hold.
   • Note for groups: I was told he could spawn multiple times if each has a lens in their hold. I did not test this. However, I had a group with 4 Terrans doing the mission. When I went down, only one had a lens as I left a group member hanging in orbit with the rest of the lenses. Holmes spawned and we killed him as a group. ALL the Terran players got a mission update off of one lens. So as an experiment we returned to space and traded another lens to one of the Terrans. When we returned to the planet, he re-spawned again so we got another kill. Pointless for the mission however good CL xp and decent loot drops so its worth returning to expend the lenses. You paid for them, might as well get some loot and XP for them.
   • I did not test this either but from this response I believe you can do the mission as a group with only ONE lens for the entire group trading it to get the mission advance at Aganju station. Then only one needed to spawn Holmes and the group gets mission update.
10. Capture Roland Holmes (kill him) on Inverness Planet.
11. Take Roland to Jerriv Kivok-Vechina at Kinshasa-Mbali in Aganju.
12. Deliver Roland Holmes to EarthCorps High Command in Zweihander.
13. Return to Jerriv Kivok-Vechina at Kinshasa-Mbali and inform him Roland Holmes has escaped custody!
    • This will happen after you undock in 61 Cygni or gate to Inverness (so, no need to beg a wh lift to Witberg to save time).
14. Head to Slayton in Beta Hydri and speak to Roland Holmes at his Hideout near Brand's Barrow.
    • before you go, level up your Combat to CL 18 by killing CL 14 Dejected Cygni Miner between the station and planet.
    • then install your next better grade missile launchers -- this will make the next step much easier.
15. Prove yourself to Roland, Defeat one of his Henchmen [CL 15].
16. Speak with Roland Holmes again at his hideout.
17. Return to Jerriv Kivok-Vechina at Kinshasa-Mbali in Aganju to complete your mission and collect your reward.

Extra "bonus"

• You will pass through New Edinburgh on your way to 61 Cygni (or Planet Inverness) at least three times.
• Stop in at Somerled Station and see vendor Jess Edarte (npc) -- fill your hold with Weapons Crates and carry them with you to 61 Cygni.
• Remember to sell these BEFORE you do anything else in Kinshaha-Mbali station so you'll have room in your hold.
  • This gains you about 38,000 trade XP and 30,000 credits just for going a little out of your way.
• On leaving 61 Cygni for the last time, you can carry a cargo of Mining Equipment to Ishuan Station for further XP and profit. (Ishuan - 61 and return is one of the most lucrative trade runs, in both XP and profit, in the game).
