Julie Bristol will teach you an advanced Terran art, the art of engine building. Go see her upon reaching level 45.
Steps
- Julie Bristol is going to teach you about Engines, but you had no idea she was going to spring this on you with no time to study! Get ready and talk to her again.
- Julie Bristol Ah, you're back, took you long enough. Anyway we have a lot to cover. Engines are important if you know how to build 'em right, then you'll find that you can get exceptional levels of thrust and high warp speeds allowing you to maneuver better than any warrior out there!
- Your Reply ... but I didn't get any orders about having to learn how engines work?
- Julie Bristol Oh, no orders you say? Well, that's too bad. I've been ordered to teach you, so you're gonna learn. Even if it hurts, catch my drift? *glare*
- Your Reply er.. ok. *listens intently*
- Julie Bristol That's what I thought. Now, on to engines. *gets a starry look in her eyes* Engines are great you know? They let you go fast, and going fast is always good. Anyway, essentially, you're going to want to buy some engines, take them to your nearest Analysis terminal and dismantle them. You may need several before you can learn what all is needed to build each. It can be costly but it pays back dividends when you can build it all for others.
- Julie is testing you. She's sent you to analyze and learn the Kestrel L2. This engine might even be quite useful to you if you haven't upgraded yet.
- Purchase a Kestrel L2 from Jorge Montez
- You must put at least 1 skill point into Build Engines to dismantle the L2 Kestrel L2
- Take the Kestrel L2 to the Analyze terminal and Analyze it to learn the recipe (if you fail buy another and repeat)
- Step 2 is completed at this point (if you don't want to bother buying the components you can just buy another Kestrel L2 and she will accept it and go to Step 3)
- Otherwise buy the L2 components Electro Force 10K, Turbo2 Engine Hulk Pro, and Vortex Silicon Rectifier from Mar Talison
- Take the completed engine back to her for inspection. Then, you might consider learning the rest of the line it could be useful to make some credits.
- Julie Bristol You've done it, very good. Well.. at least on the task, this is one of the shoddiest pieces of workmanship I've ever seen.
