Alunite is required for making the Evolver PrimerMax 3000 component, which seemingly has a Progen military classification and is not buyable from vendors. L8 Raw Alunite alloy is relatively uncommon, and so the fastest way of obtaining Alunite is to rip it from the only buyable component, a L8 Vortex Precision Iris Y991, which is available from vendors at Arx Magister, Earth Station, and Jove's Fury.
