Bring the Soul of Blackbeard to Alexander Spotswood.
Steps
- Destroy the Ghost of Blackbeard and obtain his Soul!
- Once you have The Soul of Blackbeard in your cargo, talk to Alexander Spotswood on this step to pick which level of shield to receive.
- You can start this mission after getting the Soul from a Ghost of Blackbeard Raid ; no need to have this mission prior to winning the soul to proceed through this mission.
- You have chosen Shield Tech 8.
- The step you advance to will depend on which shield tech level you choose.
- You have chosen Shield Tech 9.
- The step you advance to will depend on which shield tech level you choose.

Alexander Spotswood: I say, would you spare a moment to hear my tale? Your Reply: Of course. I love a good story. Alexander Spotswood: Many a fortnight ago, a great Battle waged within Paramis. At the time it was controlled by a great pirate named Edward Teach. Most would come to know him as "Blackbeard".
Blackbeard's forces, while powerful, were simply too few to handle the hordes of vieing factions who sought power. Your Reply: Go on. Alexander Spotswood: It is said Blackbeard became desperate, and made a pact with a power Energy being. In exchange for protection, the energy being allowed Blackbeard and his faithful followers to ascend to another plane of existence.
To Blackbeard, only a fraction of a second passed. To everyone else, many decades. When he returned, he found Revenge Station being operated by his enemies. more He and his minions destroyed the base, and vowed no mortal would ever call Paramis home. Your Reply: This is quite a story! Alexander Spotswood: If only it were but a fanciful tale. For you this Tale is as real as you and I! And now, all with (sic) Paramis are in danger, for once again Blackbeard has arisen, and seeks to destroy us all!
Some within Paramis have even begun to worship him as a god! Your Reply: What can we do to stop this? Your Reply: Yes, and I am one of them! All hail Blackbeard! Alexander Spotswood: It is said Blackbeard has become pure energy. If one could find weapons to damage pure energy, one could possibly stop him!
But alas, this is too daunting a task. You would need a small army, and great planning. Oh well. If you ever do find a way, bring me his Soul, and perhaps the BlackSun Corp. can fashion something out of it. Done
Alexander Spotswood: I just got reports that Blackbeard was destroyed! And you brought his Soul! Simply amazing!
In return I can reward you with a Shield of your choice! Now, what will it be? Level 8, or Level 9 Shield Technology? Your Reply: Level 8 Shield Tech sounds good. Your Reply: Level 9 Shield Tech is what I use.
Alexander Spotswood: This will award you the L9 Revenge of the Fallen non-tradeable shield. Are you sure? Your Reply: Wait! I selected the wrong Shield Tech level! Your Reply: Yes! I can use L9 Shield Tech!
Alexander Spotswood: Then your decision is final. Give me a moment to insert the Soul into this Tech node. (He brings out a small work bench and tinkers around with the Soul and a strange Blacksun Shield.)
Alexander Spotswood: There! It's complete! Now, for your valiant efforts defeating Blackbeard, I hereby present you with this special skull emitting Revenge of the Fallen IX shield!
