Stage II Electronic Authorization

via turn-in Stage II Agrippa Technology - Exchange Components Only PP can do this turn-in.

  • 1x L8 Persephonite (raw)
    • Mine from Arduinne, Arduinne Asteroid AA710. Field is (at least for that rock type) almost exclusively Persephonite and Khumium ore.
  • 1x L7 Diamond (refined from 5x L7 Raw Diamond)
    • Lvl 150 Clear Field jobs out of Xipe a good source
  • 1x L7 Chalcophanium (refined from 5x L7 Chalcophanite
  • 1x Vodka (Trade item, non-tradable)

Why Mining is Dumb

It takes 5 raw ore to make one refined, and most refined items can be ripped from components. At lvl 150, a PW can use shield inversion to reliably farm around 4-5 million credits/hr. That is 8 level 9 components per hour of profit. If you spend an hour mining with a fleet (one char to hold ore, one or more char to fight off guardians) then you can *maybe* get enough ore of the type you need to build that many raw. It simply doesn't make sense to mine.

Additionally, here's a table of how many ores are at each tech level:

So for a T4-6 field (pretty common) you'd need 18+19+18 = 55 cargo slots to hold all those ores. But wait! T4 asteroids also drop T3 ores, so you actually need 55 + 19 = 74 slots! "But that assumes you have all asteroid types!" True, but most fields are NOT one type of rock, so you end up with a LOT of slots needed. And every mule needs at least 6 free cargo slots so you can trade to them no matter what. It just becomes a clusterfuck of inventory management quickly.

Highish level mob notes

These are my notes from trying to find a place to grind out CLs 40-50 while a bit underleveled (lvl 7 shield and reactor).

Einherjar are docile. CL43s don't hit very hard, like to sit at 2.5k and shoot with missiles/proj. No impact resist, 50% energy resist. Annoying to loot, and too far away to use skills on.

Vindis: All fields of vindis are mixed (46s in 41s) and each Vindi hits as hard as a CL50. They like to swarm.

Varen's Girdle:

  • CL48-50 in hidden ore field: Hit too hard. Need at least lvl 8 shields, maybe 9. Also need more DPS.

Niff/Freya Sults/nags: Good to kill, problem is they are so spread out you have to go to them, wastes a lot of time.

Einherjar Berserkers: Unlike other Einherjar, these prefer close-range combat. They are in a 60km ring (30km radius) around Nav Nifleheim Cloud 11. Their loot is of low value though (so not much trade XP). They don't do much damage, they are super spread out (7.5km scan range minimum to be viable). They do drop Steinguard's embrace, but that's about it for useful loot.

TS gear notes

Purpose: Miner without support in gwells.

  • Devices:

  • Reactor: Unicorn II Stallion or Theodosius Delta (slightly worse recharge, but 25% scan range and 50% shield regen)
  • Engine:
    1. Intent for the Resolute (crafted, but requires Voltoi Raid drop, rare?)
      • better shield recharge than Theodosius reactor, 0 signature, +27 reactor recharge from shunt. (and recharge buff more than makes up for recharge loss)
    2. Terran Advantage III (high sig, but 9% reactor recharge)
    3. Ursa NGC 9 (same sig as Advantage , but 500 warp faster)
  • Shield: Hyperian Frontier's Friend (from mission TS Reconnaissance in Force, 5.5k scan, only 2.6 prospect tho)
  • Weapons
    • ML-X10 "Recluse" Mk. VIII (lvl 8 missile, gives Warp Charge)

Could run:

  • Dragon's Spite (33% turbo)
  • Orange Dragonfly M8
  • Soldier's Clipper (l4 beam)
  • Heavy Mining Laser (l6 beam, +reactor cap)

In order to get 40 explosive resist, then drop the Tolerance device for another device slot (telescopium probably)

Mining Map Progress

This section is about mapping out all of the ore fields and ore quantities in every zone, so that it can be known where the best places to look *actually* are.

How do I help

The overall goal is this: Mine the entire sector dry, count up the ores gained, and learn what sectors are hotspots for what ores. Given cargo capacity limits, restricting yourself to a single roid type (you cannot restrict based on level without polluting data) or pair of roid types (if the level spread is small enough) is required for this to work.

"Why do this?" VT has level 6 rock fields and platinum. Fenris also has level 6 fields, but 0 platinum. It's helpful to know where to look for specific ores.

  1. Start with an empty cargo hold.
  2. Be able to mine level 9 ores.
  3. Pick 1-2 asteroid types (crystal and crystal asteroid, for example)
  4. Mine EVERY.SINGLE.ROID of every level, in the entire zone. Bring mules if needed.
    • Mine a field to completion (unless it is a mixed field). Do not mine any respawns. Keep track of which fields you've mined and which you haven't.
  5. Add up how many, of each type, of ore you got
  6. Post to Discussion Page for that sector
  7. Update this list.
