Various missions and some raids will spawn mobs that are intended for a specific character. There are various ways these spawns can be triggered such as by completing a mission or by getting within a certain range of a nav.

In theory these spawned mobs are to prevent issues with griefing and bugs tied to multiple people on the same mission trying to kill the same mob at the same time.

In practice they often act as an annoyance for several reasons:

  • If you are trying to do missions together in a group you will often have to spawn and defeat the same mob once for each member of the group.
  • If the mob is spawned by getting within a certain range of a nav (typically ~20k) then spawning one for the next person often requires warping away from the nav and back again to spawn another. Sometimes this even requires leaving the sector and returning or logging out and back in.
  • Mobs that are spawned for a specific character are immune to damage from all other characters until the one who spawned it damages it in some way ("tagging").
  • Mobs which are spawned in this way with unique loot tables may only provide one chance for each character to get particular items unless they forfeit the mission and do it again (if it's even a mission which can be forfeited).

Mobs which are spawned in this manner will show up as "<Mob Name> for <Character Name>" so they are easy to identify.

In the wiki mobs like this can be marked as such using the {{Spawned}} template which will automatically add them to this category.
